How we compare, without the spin

There are good wishlist apps out there, and one of them is Ukrainian. Here is where Gift Buddy sits next to them, including the parts where somebody else is ahead.

Data taken from the products' own pages and store listings in September 2026. Apps change; if something here is out of date, tell us and we will fix it.

Where Rewish is ahead

  • It runs in a browser and in Telegram, so a friend can open a list without installing anything.
  • Money pooling is built in. Ours is not, and we explain why below.
  • AI gift suggestions already work; ours are still on the roadmap.
  • Far more people use it, and it partners with brands for discounts and collections.
  • The interface is available in six languages; ours is in two.

Where we are different

  • Your feed is the people you follow, not a storefront. We have no brand deals and nothing sponsored.
  • Every list has its own visibility, and the widest setting is the followers you name. Nothing is public, so a list never surfaces in a search.
  • You can claim a gift without revealing your name, and send a thank-you with a photo afterwards.
  • A group of up to ten can prepare one gift together, with invitations and an organizer, and no money changing hands in the app.

Where we are heading

The next block is gift karma: points for real activity, levels, streaks and badges, planned for the last quarter of 2026. After that the roadmap covers challenges, a Telegram mini app, Secret Santa and AI suggestions. Everything is published before it is built, including the parts we have not started.

The other apps people compare us with

Elfster

Built around Secret Santa exchanges, with name drawing, exclusions and budgets. If a gift exchange with a large group is your main need, that is what it does best.

Giftster

Aimed at extended families running year-round lists across generations. Strong on family groups, less focused on a social feed.

Amazon Wish List

Free and familiar, and it works well if everything you want is on Amazon. Adding items from other shops and coordinating who buys what is where it runs out of road.

Questions we get about this

Can we chip in for one expensive gift in Gift Buddy?

Not with money inside the app. Up to ten people can join one gift and coordinate who buys it, but Gift Buddy never collects, holds or splits payments. If pooling funds is the point, an app built around that will serve you better.

Is Gift Buddy free?

The free plan covers five follows and nine of your own gifts, which is enough for one household. Paid plans from $4.99 a month raise both limits and the top plan removes them. Gifts you have marked as done free up slots again.

Can I use Gift Buddy in a browser?

Only to view a public profile. Someone can open a shared profile link without installing anything, but creating gifts, claiming them and following people all happen in the app, which is on iPhone today.

The next birthday is closer than you think.

Join the conspiracy. It's free.
